Robert Wilson – Samuel Beckett:
with the laudatory comments of the Beckett Foundation
Attiki Cultural Society, continuing the "Theater Beyond Boundaries" (www.tbb.gr), presents Samuel Beckett’s "Krapp's last tape". The famous director Robert Wilson comes again to Greece not only as a director, but designing and interpreting one of Beckett’s most peculiar plays. With the approval of the Beckett Foundation, Wilson meets the author who, through his works, gave words a special meaning. Through simplicity, clarity and austerity, all common to both artists, the complexity of being emerges. The work is ironic, cunning, comic but also dramatic, and the unique approach of Robert Wilson in his direction and stage design makes it excellently suited to his personality.
With Greek supertitles
The Festival "Theatre Beyond Boundaries" is an institution that begun in March 2005, with internationally acclaimed artists like Peter Brook, Michel Piccoli, Natasha Parry and Patrice Chéreau, and has continued to entertain the public until now. Artists and productions, but also world premieres, which immediately before or just afterwards are presented in Europe and in America, come to Greece, placing Athens among the Metropoleis of Culture.
