On March 31st 2009 at the hall Iphigenia II of the "THEATRON" an event entitled "Green business and local development" took place. At the event participated leading people of the political and business life, local administration, academic community and the organized society of citizens. The event consisted of three parts: the first part focused on the need to create a new model of development, which will have total support of the political system, both on central and local level. The second part was entitled "Green economy as a force of development: challenges, problems and perspectives", while the third part the proceedings continued around the thematic unit "Local development and green consciousness". The keynote speakers agreed through their speeches that in our country the new data in local development create the need for the adoption of a new developmental model that will be based on Renewable Sources of Energy.
